I love a good ole southern hole in the wall CLEAN eatery! The parking is more than enough because the Unemployment Office is located in that same plaza and the Social Security office also.
Food: Great! Smells delicious! The best fried pork chops I've had thus far. Sides include your regular greens, beans, tams, rice and homemade onion gravy.. lord!
Menu changes daily though so.. yea. Go! Reasonable prices. Eat in. It's ok. They put everything in a to go container I think -

The food here was "ok". The service was friendly and the wait wasn't too long. The food is already prepared and in chafing dishes so I was in and out quickly. It's not as good as other souls food spots around the city so I'd probably never eat there again. It wasn't bad food but it surely wasn't a memorable tasty experience

285 change the name to A1 Soul . I didn't get a chance to ask why . The food line lady had an attitude when i wanted to ask questions about the different proteins she had coming up . I went this past Sunday around 4pmish. I purchase bbq bake chicken , cabbage and Mac n cheese . The bbq sauce was very salty . The cabbage was cooked correctly . I feel like they need to do some remodeling to the building . It's somewhat dark when you go inside . The dinner room chairs and tables holding on by some thread

The food here is alright it really isn't worth the hype. And to be honest this joint is actually kinda like a hood spot. Which means Atlanta's economically disadvantage gets extra attention when they go in to make there purchase. There's no need for me to go into full detail on that statement. From the 7 times I visited this place within a 20yr time span. It only 1 time I made a purchase out of there. And based upon that $42 meal. I draw my conclusions on this. At its best 285 West is a descent place to eat from and management needs to do a good job on training staff to wear hair nets. Because, the last time I ate from there I saw hair inside the mash potatoes and dude I wasn't even wearing my glasses!
